Charity Golf Day raises twenty thousand pounds for charity

Earlier this summer Galliford Try Partnerships and The ExtraCare Charitable Trust joined together to hold a Charity Golf Event at The West Midlands Golf Club.

The event saw 28 teams from both supply chain, including Consultants, Subcontractors, Customers and Suppliers tee off over the sunny afternoon with several charity holes to be played. (Beat the Pro, Trick shot hole and Nearest the Pin). The evening which was also held at the Golf Club started with a 4-course networking meal, a Dixie band for entertainment and Silent Auction!

The massive £20k raised from the day was split between World Child Cancer, Galliford Try Partnership chosen charity for 2018, and 40% for ExtraCare Charitable Trust. The £12k donated to World Child Cancer from this event made Galliford Try Partnerships total for the year hit a massive £90k!

James Warrington. Regional Managing Director said: “It was fantastic to see so many friendly faces including Subcontractors and Suppliers supporting our Charity Golf Day. We are thankful with the support given and the networking opportunity for all was brilliant for our collaborative working relationship. I hope that next year’s event will be as well attended, and people should hold the date in your diary now!”

Kevin Willetts, Executive Director of Development, Sales & Procurement for the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, commented: “We’re grateful to Galliford Try Partnerships for supporting this event, helping raising funds for two vitally important charities.  ExtraCare Charitable Trust donations will help older people moving into our villages enjoy better health and the company of friends, where opportunities to socialise, sing, dance or join a gym are a part of everyday life again, irrespective of age or circumstance.”

“Thank you so much to all at Galliford Try Partnerships for raising such an incredible amount through their Charity Golf Day. The money raised will help children with cancer to be diagnosed accurately and access appropriate treatment, as well as provide support to their families at such as challenging time.” Jon Rosser, Chief Executive, World Child Cancer.
