Staff at Partnerships South West are celebrating after taking home two awards at this year's coveted regional LABC Building Excellence awards.
Recognised for his commitment to the industry site manager, Yanni Sechatis was recognised as ‘Construction Professional of the Year’ and affordable housing development Chyryn Drive in St Breward took home the trophy for ‘Best Affordable Housing Development’.
The LABC awards recognise high-quality construction, with companies, projects and site managers assessed on a range of factors such as their working relationships, compliance with building regulations, project management, technical innovation, sustainability and problem solving.
Yanni was nominated for the award by Plymouth City Council, whose building control officers recognised his outstanding work at Priory Fields in Plympton, where Galliford Try Partnerships is building 54 new homes in partnership with housing provider LiveWest.
Chyryn Drive is a new affordable housing scheme in the village of St Breward, providing 21 new homes for local people. Chryryn Drive was nominated for the impact the new homes have made for the residents of St Breward who are delighted with the new homes.
Galliford Try Partnerships South West Managing Director, Marc Thompson commented on the initiative; “I am delighted with the success from the night; we are up against such a high calibre of competition in the region and to come away with multiple awards is a fantastic achievement. These awards recognise our commitment to providing the highest quality homes and our dedication to upholding the highest site standards and I’m delighted that both Yanni and the St Breward team have been recognised for their efforts.”
The South West business were shortlisted for no less than 5 awards on the evening. Following the win, both Yanni and Chyryn Drive have gained a place as a grand finalist and will attend the national award ceremony in London later this year.
