New affordable housing will be coming to Cannock after Bromford entered into a new building contract with Vistry Partnerships (VP).

The national housebuilder is currently onsite at Walkmill Lane in the market town building 116 new homes. Bromford will have 58 of these homes, which will be a mixture of social and affordable rent plus five homes which will be sold through Help to Buy shared ownership.

The Cannock site was secured by VP from Homes England through the Developer Partner Panel with Bromford now part funding its homes at Walkmill Lane through the £66m grant it received from the government’s housing agency when it was named as one of its strategic partners earlier in the year.

Work is already underway in Cannock with the homes due to be completed in phases up to March 2022.

There is a real need for more affordable housing in Cannock, so we’re thrilled to be working with Galliford Try Partnerships and Homes England on this site.

Our goal is to build at least 1,000 new homes every year and partnerships like this form an important part of our efforts to achieve this. We’re looking forward to seeing the homes take shape over the coming months and to welcoming customers into their new homes.
