Yorkshire’s Knaresborough development to deliver 120 new homes

Partnerships Yorkshire has commenced work on a £15m mixed-tenure housing scheme on the site of former arable land off Boroughbridge Road in the picturesque North Yorkshire spa town of Knaresborough.

The 120 homes on the site will be available for sale and shared ownership by Space Homes and affordable rent via Yorkshire Housing. The development will comprise 8 one-bedroom, 44 two-bedroom, 48 three-bedroom and 20 four-bedroom homes in a mix of detached and semi-detached homes.

A new public open space is being developed as a key feature of the site, including an equipped children’s play area, circular footpaths with wildflower meadows and informal recreation including a trim trail. A number of measures are being taken to support the ecology of the area. The site is considered to be of value to foraging/commuting bats; bat boxes will be installed and along with other measures will provide an opportunity to provide a net benefit to local species.

Andy Coates, Construction Director for Vistry Partnerships Yorkshire, said: We are delighted to be working on yet another scheme with Yorkshire Housing and Space Homes, our second land inclusive build contract with them in Harrogate Borough alone. We have built a strong partnership with a track-record of delivering quality, family homes in the areas of greatest need.”
